Excel Laser For Vascular Laser Treatments

Vascular conditions occur mostly in people with skin types I, 2, and 3. Skin types are ranked on the Fitzpatrick Scale; as developed in 1975 by Dr. Thomas B. Fitzpatrick, a Harvard dermatologist. The scale assigns a numerical classification to the color of skin, which is then used to access sensitivity to ultraviolet light.

Type I (scores 0-7): White; very fair; freckles; typical albino skin. Always burns, never tans. Type II (scores 8-16): White; fair. Usually burns, but can tan with difficulty. Type III (scores 17-25): Beige; very common. Sometimes mild burn, gradually tans to a light brown. Type IV (scores 25-30): Beige with a brown tint; typical Mediterranean Caucasian skin.
